BLINDE VINKEN (BEEF BIRDS)

2 to 3 lbs. thin-cut round steak

Bacon (about 1/2 lb.) cut in 3 inch strips

Onions, chopped

Salt and pepper

Toothpicks
Cut round steak in 2 x 4 inch strips. Lay strips on cutting board. Salt and pepper to taste. Place one strip of bacon and some onions on each strip of meat. Roll up the long way. Put toothpicks through meat to secure them. Brown in a small amount of butter. Add the extra bacon and onions and simmer for 3 to 4 hours. TIP: Can be done in a slow cooker or crockpot for 8 hours.
